December 2009

Jessica Faulkner '10, daughter of Eric and Jan Faulkner, has been accepted into the Reciprocal Exchange Program and will be studying abroad at Osaka University in Japan.

November 2009

Caitlin Stanton '10, daughter of our Cookbook Editor Sheryl Stanton, is graduating early in December 2009. She has been accepted into the graduate Physician Assistant program at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.

Kalen Arnold '10, daughter of Kenzie Arnold '78, has been appointed to work as the 1st camera for the Aggie Men's Basketball. She works for 12th Man Productions. Son S. Kameron Arnold '09 graduated Aug. 14 and was given his diploma by Kenzie's cousin, Dr. Richard Box, Texas A&M Board of Regents.

Jeremy Carnes '09, son of Ginger and Andy Carnes, is secretary of the TAMU student chapter of the Mechanical and Electrical Contractors Association.

October 2009

Ryan Wilks '13, son of Karen and Joel Wilks, has been elected President of the Class of 2013 – the largest freshman class in A&M history. Ryan is a graduate of Reagan High School and an International Studies major. His commitment to leadership and community service is demonstrated by a long list of volunteer efforts which led to him being awarded the President's Volunteer Service Gold Award for the past four consecutive years. As 2013 Class President, Ryan will preside over the Class of 2013 Council. Ryan's goal is to instill a passion and drive for service in his fellow freshman classmates.

BrianBentleyBrian Bentley '09, son of Board Member Barb and Russ Bentley, was recognized with a "Best Paper" award when he presented a talk at the Dalian Lubricant Technique and Economy Forum in Dalian, China, in September. His published paper was one of five chosen for an award at the conference. Brian graduated from A&M in May '09 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is employed as an Engineering Project Leader at Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio.

Zach Linares '12, an Industrial Distribution major and son of Sylvia Webster, is the Guide for Squadron 8 for the 2009-10 school year.

September 2009

Freshman Radiological Health Engineering major Ryan Rodriguez '13, son of Margaret Rodriguez, received the following scholarships: President's Endowed Scholarship, Sam Houston Sanders Endowed Scholarship, Williams '49 Scholarship, CB PLUS Scholarship, and CB Recognition Award.

Ali Smith '10, daughter of Al Smith '67 and Aggie Store Chairperson Pat Smith, is the 2009-2010 Treasurer for the Texas A&M Chapter of the National Association of Environmental Professionals.

Lt. Wayne Murphy '97, son of Mary Murphy, has been promoted to Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy, where he is a physician.

Dr. Margaret Murphy Trip '96, daughter of Mary Murphy, will be President of the Fort Bend Psychiatric Society in January 2010.

May 2009

Jan Faulkner's daughter, Jessica Faulkner '11, successfully auditioned for the Women's Chorus (Alto II) & will be traveling to Eastern Europe this May with the group. Jessy is an International Studies Major.

Jenni Griffith, daughter of VP/Treasurer Kathy Griffith, was appointed Director of Project Sunshine, a student organization which supports children with disabilities in the Bryan-College Station Area. They do a Buddy program for the children and siblings as well as put on special events. She has served in the organization since her Freshman year. She is currently a Biomedical Science (BIMS) major with a minor in psychology and a minor in neuroscience and plans to be a pediatric neurologist.

Amanda Kanwischer '09, daughter of Susan Kanwischer, has been accepted to the University of Houston's Optometry School. Amanda will begin in the Fall of 2009.

Cullen McGehee '09, son of Dolores McGehee, was one of only 30 students accepted to the Master's program in Commercial Real Estate at Texas A&M University.
