AMEN

Beginning and Ending with AMEN

There comes a time now and then when an emergency may arise with our students. When we least expect it, our students may be in dire need of assistance. A telephone number may be a life saving bit of information that may put us in touch with someone that can help them. Whether it is a medical emergency, a problem with the car, or a lost or stolen item, telephone communication can bring peace of mind to parents, if contact is made with someone that can assist their student, who is a three-hour drive away.

About five years ago, an Aggie Mom named Mary got a phone call we all dread – her daughter was unconscious in the hospital in College Station. She traveled to College Station to be with her daughter only to find out that the girl was not her daughter; she just had the same name. On the way home, Mary thought about it would be nice to have someone with her daughter while she was driving there. Mary and the San Antonio Aggie Moms' Club conceived the Aggie Moms Emergency Network – AMEN.

We collect some contact phone numbers, which will be entered in a database and kept up by Executive Board members. Should an emergency arise, members need only contact any Board member for helpful information and phone numbers.

Participation in AMEN is optional and open to all Aggie Moms.
