COMMITTEES
The following is a brief explanation of the activities where help is needed during the year. You are encouraged to volunteer for any or all of these activities once or as often as you like. This is a great way to meet other members in a small group situation and find out more about our Mothers Club.
Aggie Moms’ Emergency Network (AMEN): If you would like to have your student information available in our database and kept by Executive Board members should an emergency arise, we would use this information to help other Aggie students. Whether it is a medical emergency, a car problem, or a lost or stolen item, telephone communication can bring peace of mind to parents.
Aggie Store: Our Aggie Store is set up at club meetings and special events. Help to sell our merchandise, consisting of specially designed Aggie Mom jewelry, shirts and other Aggie gifts.
Student Support: Care packages are free to Bexar County students and given to let them know we are thinking of them during these tough times. To heolp with these Goodie Bags, you can bake homemade treats or donate items (crackers, peanuts, bottled water, sodas, gum, pencils, pens, highlighters, baked goods, candy, etc.) and/or help stuff bags before finals (December & April) and/or deliver bags to our A&M students.
Golf /Tennis Tournament: Help plan, promote, set up and assist with the Golf /Tennis Tournament. You are also invited to play in our tournament! The Golf Tournament raises money for scholarships. We have had eight successful tournaments.
Howdy Night: Decorate tables, set up & serve food as we welcome new Aggie freshmen and transfer students and their parents into the Aggie Family.
Parents’ Weekend Booth: Volunteer to work a 2-hour shift on Friday or Saturday at our booth during the Parents’ Weekend Mothers’ Club Boutique at the A&M Campus in April.
Marketing/Public Relations: Share your marketing and public relations skills with us. Help us get out the word about Aggie Moms events and programs. This helps our mission by creating community interest and involvement in our activities, and helps us recruit new members.
Social Committee: Assist in decorating for meetings/parties; set up food and serve.
Event Planning: Whether you have special skills in Event Planning already, or you’d like to gain some experience, we want your help in planning the special events and fundraisers throughout the year.
Let us know of your interest in any of these activities! Contact any member of the Aggie Moms' Executive Board. |
